Hi, I'm Charla Pettingill!
I'm a published illustrator, surface designer, and illustration professor with 15+ years of industry experience designing for print and pattern. I graduated magna cum laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I studied Illustration and earned a B.F.A. and an M.A. in Visual Communication. I love creating illustrations that bring joy to others.
I have created artwork for magazines, product packaging, floor coverings, sewing fabric, gift wrap, and greeting cards, as well as children's activities and books. I also have experience in art direction and project management. Repeat patterns are my passion!
When I'm not drawing or teaching, I enjoy a good cup of coffee on my back porch, hanging out with my husband and two cats, making jewelry from polymer clay and found objects, traveling to new destinations, and rummaging at antique shops.
